A New Chapter for Rowing in Niagara Officially Begins

with the launch of Niagara Community Rowing (NCR) on the renowned Welland Recreational Canal. Niagara Community Rowing will establish itself as the Niagara region’s premier destination for youth and secondary school rowing excellence, with expanded community programming launching in Summer 2026. 

A Premier Training Venue, the Welland Recreational Canal is widely recognized as one of Canada’s premier rowing courses, having hosted numerous national and international regattas. Its straight, protected water and consistent racing conditions provide an exceptional high-performance training environment.
